As part of its investments in Germany, Claas has inaugurated a new pre-assembly center at its headquarters in Harsewinkel. With a total investment of approximately €30 million, the project represents a significant milestone in the modernization of its production infrastructure.
Expansion of Automation
A key element is the expansion of automation: new welding robots will produce components for combine harvesters and system tractors. Furthermore, complete process digitalization is planned to further optimize production and increase efficiency.
The new production facility therefore contributes significantly to achieving Claas’ high quality standards.

Jan-Peter Bluhm, Production Manager at the Harsewinkel plant, emphasized the commitment of the entire team involved in the project and presented the modern spot welding and adhesive technology used in the pre-assembly center, which features a total of three robotic systems.
Special attention was paid to integrating the latest energy standards in the design of the new pre-assembly center: the building is equipped with modern insulation, heat exchangers, and intelligent lighting control, further contributing to the site’s sustainability and energy efficiency.
